Burned House of Night Author: P.C Cast & Kristin Cast

Summary:

When friends stop trusting each other, Darkness is there to fan the flames…. Things have turned black at the House of Night. Zoey Redbird’s soul has shattered. With everything she’s ever stood for falling apart, and a broken heart making her want to stay in the Other world forever, Zoey’s fading fast. It’s seeming more and more doubtful that she will be able pull herself back together in time to rejoin her friends and set the world to rights. As the only living person who can reach her, Stark must find a way to get to her. But how? He will have to die to do so, the Vampyre High Council stipulates. And then Zoey will give up for sure. There are only 7 days left… Enter BFF Stevie Rae. She wants to help Z but she has massive problems of her own. The rogue Red Fledglings are acting up, and this time not even Stevie Rae can protect them from the consequences. Her kinda boyfriend, Dallas, is sweet but too nosy for his own good. The truth is, Stevie Rae’s hiding a secret that might be the key to getting Zoey home but also threatens to explode her whole world. In the middle of the whole mess is Aphrodite: ex-Fledgling, trust-fund baby, total hag from Hell (and proud of it). She’s always been blessed (if you could call it that) with visions that can reveal the future, but now it seems Nyx has decided to speak through her with the goddess’s own voice, whether she wants it or not. Aphrodite’s loyalty can swing a lot of different ways, but right now Zoey’s fate hangs in the balance. Three girls… playing with fire… if they don’t watch out, everyone will get Burned.

My Review:

Well let me start off by saying Burned was a hit and miss for me I had a love/hate with the book I kept picking up the book then putting it down in the beginning I was so into the book cause I saw that Cast had kept writing from everyone’s point of view again and not just from Zoey’s. Then towards the middle it started to stale for being repetitive of the same thing yes Neferet is bad along Kalona yes she wants and will stop at nothing and anything to have Zoey dead yes she’s still trying to convince the councils she is Nyx reincarnated along with Kalona being Erebus reincarnated blah blah blah . But then it hit me with the ultimate bang I loved how Aphrodite finally was able to use her gift to full potential! Along with how Stark grieving with the broken sprit of his high priestess emerged as an amazing Warrior I mean Guardian now his character grew so much in this book I’m glad this all happened cause I felt that he was slowly coming along with Zoey this was the leap that was needed and I was waiting for .Now I like how Stevie Rae has grown from her Oklahoma roots and she now has substance as a character and Stevie Rae harnessing great power was amazing but all power has a price and I think this is just the first taste of the price that she will continue to be paying especially when it comes to being with Rephaim oh how I love you and your black feathers I know he is pure evil but I love how he is learning what it’s like to care and feel something for some even possibly love he’s torn between darkness and light and I’m not sure he’s ready to sub come to either . The one thing I dislike in all the books when describing all the high council members the go into details from beauty to how their hair shimmers what I didn’t like was when Nyx their goddess appeared to Zoey in the flesh it didn’t do that I wanted more I know it was in a horrible situation but I wanted that.

My Final thoughts:

There are 2 more books left for me to read in the series but I’m not sure how promising they are don’t get me wrong I love the house of night series but it seems after book 5 and on its like one is amazing then the next is okay only time will tell.
